Product Design & Brand Identity
Torakka is an app that connects to a small beacon located on your bike via Bluetooth. This smart beacon helps the user spot their bike in the 100-meter range and gives some extra information, like parking spots or if the bike is moving without authorization.
We wanted to express fluency and make using the application a pleasant experience. The application's main purpose is to track, register, and obtain services for the user to get the maximum comfort when riding a bike. The application helps the user obtain a map of locations and associated services.
It is vital to start any design with wireframes. Sometimes brainstorming using pen and paper is the easiest way to approach complicated ideas. For Torakka, I had multiple ideas simultaneously. I really wanted to put all my ideas together, as I didn't want to miss any of my thoughts, so it was easier for me to start putting my ideas on paper.
We want the UI to be very clean and intuitive, so the user can spot the location of the bicycle quickly.
We finally created a clear vision of how the final application will look like and how it will work. We also planned to present our vision to the developers to make creating the application easier.
We created a prototype recreating the main steps of the application development. I wanted to highlight the animation of the logo on the splash screen to represent the central logo concept.
